THE WATER PUMP EXPLAINED:
In today’s auto repair industry the water pump is a common maintenance item. It is typically performed if the water pump is leaking or if the timing belt is being replaced. At Mobile Auto Truck Repair Omaha we replace hundreds of water pumps a year and have the knowledge and expertise to perform this water pump repair service right the first time, every time.
WATER PUMP - HOW IT WORKS:
A belt or the timing belt, which is connected to the crankshaft of the engine, drives the water pump. The pump circulates engine coolant (anti-freeze) and water whenever the engine is running. The water pump on today’s vehicles uses centrifugal force to circulate the fluids through the vehicles cooling system. The fluid that leaves the pump flows first through the engine block and cylinder head, then into the HVAC heater core, followed by the radiator and finally back to the pump.
This system is a closed pressurized system when operating normally

WATER PUMP - GENUINE PARTS:
New Water Pump
Please note: When it comes to water pumps, not all water pumps are created equally. At Mobile Auto Truck Repair Omaha we use the highest quality water pumps, thermostats and related components so we can offer our clients a 25,000 miles / 25 months warranty on all vehicle repairs performed at our auto repair shop. Using a genuine pump or the Original Equipment (OE) pump from the manufacturer guarantees a proper fit and seal of your water pump. Since it was built for your specific vehicle, you can expect it will last longer and be a better! The manufacturer will update and supersede its parts in an on-going effort to improve parts and fix common issues. There are many benefits to using a high quality part that Mobile Auto Truck Repair Omaha offers.
WATER PUMP FAILURE:
Don't let your water pump leave you stranded!
Typically, if your vehicle is taken to a reputable repair shop they should catch any water pump problems before they become an issue or leave you stranded. Our technicians commonly find water pump seals failing. These seals are a normal part of the wear process in a water pump. Due to this, the manufacturer has drilled a hole known as the “weep hole”. If we see engine coolant leaking or "weeping" from your water pump, then it is time to replace it! Otherwise, you may be stuck on the side of the road with an overheating vehicle in short order. If you find that your vehicle is showing symptoms of overheating problems, it is important that you get to the bottom of this matter because overheating can cause engine damage!
WATER PUMP PROBLEMS
Depending on your car, water pumps typically last between 60,000 and 90,000 miles. Radiator hoses can last up to 100,000 miles. Over time, however, both radiator hoses and water pumps wear out and if they are not replaced when needed, serious damage can occur. A collapsed radiator hose, for example, can quickly ruin an engine.
If you experience any of the following problems, call Mobile Auto Truck Repair Omaha:
If you deal with these radiator hose and water pump problems quickly, you'll prevent any further damage within the cooling system or engine. Call Mobile Auto Truck Repair Omaha nearest you and or come in for a Cooling System Diagnostic. We don't require an appointment, and we're open seven days a week for your radiator repair services.
